White 2018 chevy traverse redline package12/29/2023 ![]() ![]() Front-wheel drive is standard on LS, LT Cloth, and RS models, with all-wheel drive as an option, while the LT True North, Premier, and High Country trims come standard with a switchable all-wheel drive system. Both are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the outgoing model's six-speed. There are two engine choices to choose from, a 3.6-litre naturally aspirated V6, which we tested, and a 2.0-litre turbo-four (FWD-only and exclusive on the RS models) that is slated to come to Canada later in the year. While that is nothing new, what is innovative is that the Traverse now emits a little puddle light of a Chevrolet bowtie just under the rear bumper, so you know exactly where to kick to trigger the liftgate to open. One really cool feature we found was the hands-free power liftgate. ![]() ![]() This means 4G LTE Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a wide array of USB slots, a rear camera mirror passed down by the Cadillac CT6, and an 8-inch infotainment unit (7-inch on base models) with a hidden storage cubby behind it that can be locked via a PIN number that you set. There is enough headroom for my six-foot figure, and legroom is acceptable only if the second row extends forward on the rails just a notch.Īll of GM's tech has made it downstream into the Traverse, transforming it into a mobile office of sorts. Speaking of the back row, it's rather spacious as well. Ingress and egress is good, and the second row now has the ability to slide forward without moving the seatback - a godsend for parents who don't want to uninstall their baby seats just to access the third row. Buyers also have the option of choosing a 7- or 8-passenger seat configuration for the second row seats. The seats are comfortable, though I would have liked it if the seat bottom could tilt a little higher up. Furthermore, the dashboard is sleek with glossy black panels that don't look cheap, and it blends in nicely with large buttons and a friendly interface. The cabin is incredibly spacious and the same goes for the center storage cubby, which is nearly as large as the ones you find in pick-up trucks. Chevrolet says it was inspired by the best of truck and car interiors and mixed together. The interior has been given a nip and tuck with a cleaner layout. Sitting at the top of the Traverse food chain, High Country adds exclusive 20-inch polished wheels, Loft Brown leather interior, suede microfibre accents, twin-clutch AWD system, a power folding third row seat, and High Country badging on the exterior, floor mats, and headrests. There is also a new High Country trim ($58,590), which Chevrolet says is like the Denali of the GMC lineup. The Traverse offers a trim that appeals to everyone, ranging from the base LS ($34,990), LT Cloth, LT True North, RS, and Premier. With it, the Traverse almost looks like a Land Rover Discovery Sport from certain angles. The Redline package ($995), which is new for this year and essentially acts as a "blacked out package", blacks out the grill, fog lamp bezels, bowtie badge, lettering, and the wheels with a bit of red accent. The new sheetmetal is handsome and takes many hints and cues from the familial Tahoe, giving it almost like a skim milk demeanor of that body-on-frame hulk. There is more interior and cargo space despite the Traverse being dimensionally the same, and it also comes equipped with more standard features. The worst part? Forgetting to bring my umbrella.Īll new for 2018, the Chevrolet Traverse is lighter and more fuel efficient than before. But it seems like it's only here that you can encounter three extremes of weather conditions within the span of an hour. SHEDIAC, New Brunswick - Who would have thought that Canada's east coast would be the perfect location to test drive an SUV? We flew to the small town of Shediac, a few minutes northeast of Moncton and known for its lobster statue, and piloted the new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse down south right to the shores of the famous Bay of Fundy. ![]()

Nicholas dew sc12/29/2023 ![]() ![]() If the connections were well understood, funds could be targeted to foster entrepreneurial talent aspects that have the highest impact on desired venture performance outcomes, since different outcome constructs (such as survival, growth, employment and profit) might not evenly relate to each other (see e.g., investigation of entrepreneurship and different outcomes on a macro-economic level by Nystrom, 2008). From a policy perspective, a better understanding of which element of entrepreneurial talent is associated with which venture performance dimension is of utmost importance in the efficient deployment of scarce resources. We expand on this analysis of entrepreneurship by bringing together empirical data on variance in the nature of entrepreneurial talent with variance in outcomes of the enterprises entrepreneurs lead (SMEs). Moreover, prior work suggests meaningful variance within the dependent level of firm performance outcomes (e.g., Chaganti and Schneer, 1994 Venkatraman and Ramanujam, 1985, 1986 Zou et al., 2010). James is an astrophotography pro – he has the experience and equipment to get the shots we had envisioned. He then took individual pics with everyone in our small group of about 12, spending time with each of us to get the best poses with the Milky Way behind us. After getting us set with warm parkas and reclining beach chairs to really lean back and enjoy the night sky he gave a great presentation of what we were looking at (the parkas were fine for us, but dress warmly and even bring an extra blanket if you’re prone to being cold, it was in the 30’s). Check, check and check! James brought us to a perfect location away from anyone or anything else where we had the perfect view of the Milky Way rising and billions of stars. We like small groups, personalized experiences in locations not frequented by the large tour companies. We came to the Big Island from New York specifically to experience the best dark sky stargazing and Astrophotography on Mauna Kea. Watermelon margarita12/29/2023 ![]() ![]() More tasty margarita recipes: Strawberry Basil Margarita | Strawberry Margarita Mimosa | Limeade Margaritas | Smoky Jalapeno Margarita how long can I store the leftover watermelon juice? I recommend making the cocktail in batches of 2 at a time (this will fit most cocktail shakers!). Hosting a gathering? Be sure to have your favorite jigger handy for accurate measurements! cocktail must-haves To make the cocktails, you will need a cocktail shaker and cocktail strainer. I picked up the coupe glasses you see here at IKEA, but you can use your favorite cocktail glass, whether that’s margarita glasses or rocks glasses. A fine mesh strainer also comes in handy to strain out the juice and separate the solids. To make the watermelon juice, you will need a blender, like a Vitamix, or food processor to break down the fruit into a puree. You can use your favorite chili powder! this recipe’s must haves Just kosher salt will do!Ĭhili powder – I like to use ancho chili powder because the flavor has a little extra smokiness. Salt – I like to use a finer salt for the rim since it’s getting mixed with chili powder. You can also swap it out for honey or simple syrup, if you prefer. Lime – fresh lime juice is best, in my opinion! Just buy a bag of limes if you are making these for a party.Īgave – the flavor that agave adds to this cocktail is SO good. You can use something more top shelf if you prefer like Patron. I target a mid-range price point option like El Jimador or Dobel. Tequila – use a blanco or silver tequila for this recipe. If you like spice, use 2 to 3 slices per cocktail. If you are more sensitive to heat, you can use just one slice per cocktail. Jalapeño – I leave my peppers whole and simply slice them to get just the right amount of heat. Pro Tip: Pick up an extra watermelon for snacking! It’s SO fun to dip wedges of watermelon in the chili-salt rim you make for the cocktail. Watermelon – I use a whole seedless watermelon for this recipe to get all the watermelon juice I possibly can! You don’t have to worry about pretty cuts, just remove the skin and chop up the flesh into pieces that’ll fit in your blender or food processor. ![]() It’s the best way to celebrate the last days of summer, sitting by the pool or on the patio, soaking up the sunshine! ingredients Since you have to make your own watermelon juice for this recipe (don’t worry, it isn’t complicated!), you can either make yourself a cocktail and have enough to make more for a couple of days OR you can make enough for you and your friends! If you haven’t tried salt on watermelon yet, you just haven’t lived and the chili-salt combo takes it all to the next level of flavor! I even added a chili salt rim that you can not only rim your cocktail glasses with, but you can also dip slices of watermelon in for a fun snack/garnish! In every sip of this summer margarita, you get a big dose of watermelon fruitiness with a punch of tequila and a little touch of heat from some jalapeño. I wanted to capture that juicy refreshment in a cocktail, and my friends, this is the ultimate way to do that. Watermelon is the ultimate summer refreshment, isn’t it? The sweetness, the juice dripping down your chin as you bite into a slice, the cold fruity flesh… It all screams sitting by the pool and cooling off on a hot summer day! Umplayer mac12/28/2023 ![]() ![]() Perian’s developers recommend NicePlayer, which is a nice piece of kit, though still in preview form for 10.7 Lion in a September 2011 release. a YouTube search box in the top-right of the app’s main window returns search results, but UMPlayer seems incapable of actually playing selected videos. UMPlayer’s interface is strangely reminiscent of Windows Media Player, and its standout feature, YouTube playback and recording, is disappointingly dysfunctional Sadly, though, UMPlayer is let down badly by jerky playback (unacceptable on a 2 GHz i7 MacBook Pro), a reluctance to recognise my laptop’s DVD drive, and dialogs written by someone who, if we’re being charitable, has yet to master English. The same is true of UMPlayer, whose unoriginal name hides an extensive feature set. VLC, by virtue of its thoroughness and its longevity, has become the standard against which competitors are judged foremost among them is MPlayer OSX Extended, which offers much the same feature set of its rival, including spoggly and unreliable DVD playback, but little in the way of enhancements or embellishments that might make it a compelling alternative. I personally care little for VLC’s interface, though it cleaves more closely to Apple’s human interface guidelines than does the quirky QuickTime Player. ![]() And, if it’s in a really good mood, it can even provide a way to play DVDs from regions other than the region for which the computer has been set (a feature of interest to anime fans and many people outside the United States). Like Perian, VLC has a wide reach, nimbly embracing all but the most exotic videos, including DVDs. Luckily, all of the main options are free. The Alternatives - It is quite likely that Perian will continue to function under releases of Mac OS X for the near future, but it isn’t guaranteed, and so users like me, who have become dependent upon Perian to handle playback of movies not Apple-approved, will be looking for alternatives. Time, they say, to move on to new projects the source code will remain available for others to improve, but the existing development team won’t be working on it. The Perian people are making no promises, other than that they won’t be supporting Perian any longer. Perian may, they say, continue to function under Apple’s forthcoming OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, or it may not. The developers have announced that support will cease 90 days after the upcoming final update to Perian. Instead, it simply operates in the background, quietly and transparently enabling QuickTime Player to play video formats not deemed worthy by Apple.īut Perian’s days are numbered. Installed as a preference pane, Perian offers little in the way of configurable options. This is where Perian comes - or, rather, came - in. mkv files, which are common on the Internet, not to mention a host of more unusual formats. ![]() Unfortunately, QuickTime Player throws its hands up in despair when asked to play. Out of the box, a Mac can play video through Apple’s QuickTime Player, which handles. What Perian Does - Described by its developers as a Swiss Army knife of video playback, Perian has long been among the first pieces of software I install on a new Mac. In a statement on the project’s Web site, the developers have said that it’s time to move on, their goal of making video content playback easier on the Mac having been met. The developers of Perian, the free and extremely popular video format extender for QuickTime, have announced that they are ceasing work on the project.

Dont hug me im scared dad12/28/2023 ![]() The six-episode reboot, which premiered on Channel 4 in the U.K. In a lot of ways, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared could be described as the demented British half-cousin of Sesame Street and the heir apparent to Wonder Showzen, albeit less politically charged than the latter and more focused on taking a sledgehammer to the standard of children's educational television set by the former. ![]() ![]() These adventures typically revolve around a fourth-wall-breaking music number sung by a talking inanimate object, like a notepad or a refrigerator, about an ostensibly educational topic (e.g., creativity, healthy eating, dreams) before inevitably collapsing into a psychedelic death spiral of body horror and unremitting ennui. The series centers on a trio of strange, colorful characters - a tall man in a red morphsuit with two beady eyes atop a mop-top of scraggly hair named “Red Guy,” a yellow man-boy with a tuft of blue hair in blue overalls named “Yellow Guy,” and a talking green duck in a gray jacket named… “Duck.” This eclectic group reluctantly goes on adventures when they’d rather just sit around their house instead. Now, over six years since the last short, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared has finally returned as a half-hour television series, and it’s like the show never left. The animated shorts have since amassed over 216 million collective views on YouTube and inspired everything from elaborate fan theories involving Serbian war criminals to a small clothing line. If you, like me, were terminally online around the early 2010s, you probably know, love, and have sorely missed Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.Ĭo-created by animators Becky Sloan and Joseph Pelling, the six-episode web series set a fire across the Internet when it was released on YouTube between 20, with a unique blend of puppet-based antics and Lynchian shock humor. ![]() |
